"Capote"

As some of you already know, I'm a devotee of the cinematic arts. As part of my deal to cover the goings-on in Aruba, my publisher agreed to send me prints of requested films. We receive the prints, Timtiki threads them up at the local movie house and he and I have "Flicker Show Night" every Friday. Well this past Friday, the flicker show was "Capote" directed by Bennett Miller and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. And it was fucking balls-out awesome. By far, the best American movie I've seen thus far in 2005.

The things this movie excelled at: cinematography, acting, pacing, dialogue, character. The things this movie failed at: sucking. The two most remarkable elements of this picture are the responsible subtlety with which the themes are applied (e.g. the creative process, family, loyalty) and Philip Seymour Hoffman's existence as Truman Capote. Unlike Foxx, Blanchett and even DiCaprio last year, Hoffman has transcended performance and simply is. So now Jamie Foxx and his mimicry of Ray Charles can suck Philip Seymour Hoffman's long, distinguished johnson; and he'll do so willingly if he's seen "Capote".

P.S. If you don't agree with my opinion of "Capote": you're a stupidhead and you can't be my friend.
