Hey, Look At Me, Everybody! I'm Andy Rooney!

I bought the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" DVD on Thursday. On the slipcase there's a sticker that reads: "Includes Fun, Action-Packed Deleted Scenes And More!" "Fun, Action-Packed Deleted Scenes." What are they thinking over at Fox's home video division? I find the following scenario highly unlikely:


Someone or someones at Fox actually made the executive decision to ink and print stickers, millions of stickers, that included the words "fun" and "action-packed". It may not seem like a big deal. But think about this: time was spent in a meeting, memos were exchanged, printing orders were filled out, all discussing whether or not the stickers should say "Includes Deleted Scenes And More!" or "Includes Fun, Action-Packed Deleted Scenes And More!". Fox felt it was worth the extra time and money to make sure the DVD-buying public was aware that these deleted scenes are "fun and action-packed".

Now, aside from the waste of money, I actually take issue with their choice of adjectives. "Action-packed" I understand. But "fun"? Fucking “fun”?!?! Does Barney the Dinosaur make an appearance? Does Martha Stewart show up in one of the scenes and give me "fun" tips for a "spook-tacular" Halloween?

I wish Fox would've taken the money spent printing these stickers and just sent the check to me. It would've been a match made in heaven: they clearly like wasting time and money and I'm really good at wasting time and money. Well, I'm at least better at it than they are.

Now since I'm rolling, lemme talk to you for a moment, Mr. 2% Milk…
